The Leith Drive-Thru was one of Scotland’s first fast food joints; it had been started by Old Bert and his brother when they took over the abandoned Shell garage near the bottom of Leith Walk.

At first, they had just opened up a shop that happened to have a very large car-park but after Old Bert’s son, Mikey had seen a documentary about American Drive Thru’s, he managed to persuade the brothers to give it a go.
